Great ways to tick off a pregnant woman!

posted 13th Oct
Okay, I don't know what the deal is lately, and my hormones have been pretty much in check lately, so I know it's not just that. Lately, I keep having people say things to me and I sit there wondering "wth would you SAY something like that??"

First, I was talking to the sister of one of my friends. She was telling me that she's not sure she'll be able to make it to the baby shower, but she'll definitely get something for the baby. I told her that was fine, but just don't buy any clothes (my fiancee went a little overboard. hehe). She asked if we got any shoes yet and I told her yes, we pretty much have his entire wardrobe established. Then she says "well he'll probably get some more shoes anyway just because I like them." Uhm. Okay? Thanks for being no help whatsoever.

Then the other night, I went to the video store where I used to work and this guy that works there who pretty much just knows my name and that I used to work there starts talking to me. It was all fine and dandy at first, he asked how I'm doing, how much longer I have [til baby is due] etc. He then has the gall to tell me "wow. you're gonna get BIG!!" I'll be shocked if my jaw didn't hit the floor. Okay, I have 7 weeks left. You don't know me, so what right do you have to tell me something like that? Just because your wife gained almost 80 lbs when she was pregnant doesn't mean it happens to everyone. I've gained (from my lowest weight, not starting weight) 31 pounds so far. Uh I don't think i'm going to get as big as his wife did by any means.

Does anyone else think thatpeople seem to see a "piss me off, please!!" sign hanging over your head just because you're pregnant??

Oh my gosh, I would've slapped the second guy. "Thanks for calling me fat, jackass!" And as for the first girl, I think I would've said, "No. Absolutely not. You are not allowed to get the baby shoes. I just f*ckin' told you we got everything clothing related covered. I basically told you not to get shoes and you're doing it anyway. What the hell is wrong with you?! If you want to get the baby shoes and you refuse to listen to what I'm saying, then just don't get him anything."

I'm 100% empathetic to your mood. My hormones are just fine; I'm not crying or getting mad randomly. It's just that some of the things people say to me... it's like, what the hell is wrong with you? Aren't you listening to me? Or... don't you have any common sense about what to say and what not to say to people?! C'mon now. It's like the big tummy is a bull's eye that says "piss me off, please."

Yay! I'm not just a crazy hormonal preggosaurus! lol Yeah believe me, saying things along those lines definitely crossed my mind. I'm just too much of a nice person. ...unless it happens again.

Pre-pregnancy, I would've been too nice. But now that I'm pregnant, my thought is "I'm pregnant so if you piss me off - whether intentional or unintentional - you're going to know about. I'm going through so many body changes and all kinds of strangers trying to touch me and give me advice. So if I wanna speak my mind, you're going to deal with it." I'm sure I'll revert back to pre-pregnant-nice after Logan comes but until then, the population of the world will just have to deal.

lol, I don't think he was saying it to piss you off. Although I understand what you're saying. Everything pisses me off. My hormones are outta wack and with me not being on my meds, I want to strangle just about anyone.

My mom likes to tell me that she's going to shop for me at the tent and awning dept. Boy I just wanna jack slap her. lmao
