Question for Obama supporters

Obama says that 95% of people will get a tax cut under his plan (sometimes he says 95% of ‘working families,’ and yes, there is a difference).

So I want to know how Obama is going to give a tax cut to those 43 million Americans who don’t pay any taxes.

hmmm....good question. Maybe it will come in the form of a larger refund from your 1040 form.

A "refund" implies that they've paid something. They aren't paying anything in taxes.

He probably won't. (Believe, I support Obama.) I'm just saying, he probably won't. Especially with all the programs he wants to implement, cutting taxes like that is impossible. Anyway, he can't do anything without the approval of Congress.

So when he says in the presidential debate that "95% of YOU will get a tax cut" he'd have to be assuming that everyone watching pays something in taxes.

Basically yeah. I mean, everyone has a set amount that gets deducted when the do their form....since it's a set amount it's just money being handed to you. Maybe he'll say well you are in this income bracket so here is a tax break. Makes sense to me but to be honest all the candidates for prez this year are stupid as far as I'm concerned. I hate that I have to choose one dumb guy or another.

The second link says that includes both those who pay no tax,and those who pay taxes and get them back in the the form of the refund. So maybe there will be larger refunds.

This has got to be one of the dumbest questions and posts I've seen about Obama yet. Are you a little slow? The short answer - he isn't. You cannot give a tax cut to people who don't pay taxes.

Obvisouly he means tax payers. You cant cut taxes on someone who dosent pay taxes and I think everyone understands that. Its not like people that dont pay taxes are saying "Score, I get a tax cut!'

Come on. Its just semantics.
