how do you deal...

posted 13th Oct '08
with sleep deprivation?

i am one of those people that truly loves her sleep. my friend has commented/questioned how i'm going to deal with it since i "love my sleep."

so i know i can't be alone. there have to be plenty of mamas out there, just like me, that love to sleep whenever & however they can pre-baby and now that there is a baby around, have had to modify their sleep schedules.

so how do you squeeze in "good sleep" or is it truly gone once baby is here?

i'm bored. share your thoughts.

lol.

God, i hate when people shit in my cereal.

yeah, that's what i hear. some people, i hear/read, get lucky though. but it seems it is only for a short time. they'll get a "good newborn" or "good toddler" or something and then BAM...no sleep for mommy ever again.

actualyl my daughter wasn't a handful at all. there were mornings where we'd be up for an hourgetting her changed and feeding her then putting her back to bed. but that was it.
when your child comes you'll learn to deal with it, if it happens.

I have great kids, but that doesn't mean that the night feedings and early mornings and "Mommy, I'm not sleepy anymore!" declarations at nap time don't add up to the reality being that I'm tired most of the time. It's not the number of hours, it's more years and years of being woken up by someone against my will.

Lol shit on your cereal ahahaa. Anyway I love sleep and I'm one of those that really needs their sleep, like bad. You just learn to cope and I would sleep when he does. If he wakes me up 2 or 3 times I generally need 2 more hrs in the morning after he' fed and if I'm lucky he'll go back to sleep for that long. It does get better though, it doesn't seem like it will but it does. He slept for 11 hrs on Saturday during the night! Those types of things will shock the crappers out of you!

i love my sleep too but its something you learn to live without though especially in the beginning. i was thankful the second time around i have a baby who loves his sleep too. my oldest on the other hand not so much lol... the older they get though the better it gets sometimes.

that's what makes me tired. my almsot 2 yr old wakes me up every morning around 8-9. which i guess isn't that bad. me and the hubby just go to bed late.

8-9 would be heaven. My stinkers are up before seven.

Unfortunately, you dont. But youll get used to it, and one day, your baby will graduate high school, go to college, and then you can sleep again. God im looking forward to that!
