Here is the most frustrating part. You did not want to get pregnant by him but birth control is not 100%. Teens need to seriously stop and think. Everytime you have sex no matter what you are using the chance of pregnancy is always there.

you said earlier in the post you became sexually active at 14 and later stated your assault was at 13. I am confused.

It was actually more thoroughly planned than i think you understand.
I was wearing lingerie. I had my aunt take me out to buy the lingerie, jelly, and condoms. It was an amazing night.

I believe that any pregnancy that isn't plan would be considered an inconvenience. If you had effeciently read before claiming i wasn't "jumping for joy", i clearly stated that i love my little one with my entire heart and i would not trade him/her for the world.

And i never mentioned being sexually active at 14. That must have been someone else that you are inappropriately assuming is me. I was raped at the age of 13. This abuse lasted a few months until i told my father and he took care of it.

I obstained from sexual intercourse from that point on until Prom night. I did not ever believe i HAD to have sex that night. It was just the night i planned it.

I fail to understand why i am getting bashed simply because you believe teens shouldn't have sex. I knew that any type of birth control isn't 100%. But when you're raised to believe if you use contraception you're over 90% likely to not become pregnant, you don't assume that one carefully planned night will end in a child.

I have no regrets about this night besides that the combination of a condom and jelly did not prevent what it was intended to.

I do not regret my baby. I love him/her more than i believe you know.

Quoting Orions Mommy:“ Mara, do you support abstinence being taught in schools as opposed to sex ed?”

i guess i would see it as "the best option" for high school students -- sort of like college or a four-year university.  no one's going to really be that bothered if you end up in a community college, but your chances of landing a sweet job just decrease that much more if you don't put the effort in during high school to get into a decent university.  i'd hold that abstinence from intercourse during high school is the safest most intelligent route for everyone (especially women).

and it would be totally different than the abstinence education that exists out there today.

basically, teenagers need to understand how dangerous and life-changing penile/vaginal intercourse can be... and how overrated it is as THE major sexual interaction between heterosexuals.  i mean, it can happen w/out the female orgasming -- it's very penis-centered and in that, not necessarily that pleasurable for a female.

at this point though, all of the emphasis is around fucking (if you will) and that needs to be changed.  we cannot have teenagers thinking they're entitled to that just b/c every form of media out there implies that sex is the be-all end-all of any sort of relationship.

i do not expect teens to not sexually explore-- but if they go into sexual exploration fully informed and w/ a new perspective on sexual intercourse, i think we could manage those infamous hormones quite effectively... w/out ending up w/ the huge percentage of pregnant teens we are currently seeing in the usa.
