What do they feel like?

Ok ladies, do your best. What did contractions feel like for you? If you can, what did the mild ones feel like, moderate and then the worst?

mine until i was 8 cm felt just like my stomach cramping a little but they did not hurt. they weren't too bad at 8 cm but i got the epidural anyways and that kicked in at 9 cm. it only hurt bad when they checked me at 8 cm.

the mild ones just feel very uncomfortable and like your belly is getting very very tight, the bad ones are what I just mentioned accompanied by the worst period pains of your life IMO!

well with my first i dint even had bh or anything then my waters broke at like 2:30am ish on 4th july 06 and within like 20 mins of that i was on phone to hospital and all of a sudden..... BAM major contractions!!! i hope its not the same this time!! x

the early ones are just like period cramps and the other ones are just a stonger period cramp. mine were really easy though and i was induced and on lots of drugs.

mild ones where just an uncomfortable feeling like cramps,
the moderate ones actually hurt worst than the big time contractions because I would tense up during them...basically for me it felt like my insides where being ripped apart....whatever you do breath during them..it really does help!
the bad ones felt like a wave of pain washing over me, it builds then seizes you then it slowly eases off....

OH and epidural!!!!! It made the pains go away and life was good again..LOL

I'm so freaked out about delivery, I start to get light headed when ever one of my family members or friends talk about the birth of thier baby. When I read a post like this I have to catch myself from falling out of my chair.   I'm so worried about it, I have never been scared or more worried about anything more. Ugh.... I don't want a C-section though.... the way I look at it is if women have been doing it for decades and decades then I can too..... I can too......I can too.....

I had back labor so mine were different. Mild ones were like a nagging ache in my back that came and went. Moderate...I don't remember there being a "moderate", probably because they zoned me out on Stadol at that point. Until finally the pain was constant and sickening and it felt like my back was caught in some kind of vise that just kept getting tighter and tighter. It didn't stop until I got the epi at 7 cm. I couldn't take it anymore.

I never had the first cramp in my belly, although I did have some belly tightening.

I have been feeling crampy off and on for about a day now. Like when I woke up several times I have been cramping. I also (TMI) have gone to the bathroom quite a bit today (without the help of benefiber) which is sooooo unusal for me.... So idk. I def feel cramps, like period cramps.... I wish we had like internal monitors that only we could see..... lol.
