Its safest for your body - it needs time to heal.

Have to? Well, you'll probably be fine if you don't, but it's recommended that you do to give you time to fully heal.

If you want to have sex before that, I'd honestly see the doctor and get the go ahead from him/her, they'll know if you're ready.

There are also, not that I really need to say it, ways to take and receive pleasure that don't involve vaginal intercourse.

hmmm we waited a whopping 3 weeks.....buuuut it probably is best to wait. I had an emergency c-section though and I never dilated past 4 cm so I figured it might be ok. We used condoms though.

It's weird during my pregnancy I didn't even want him to touch me at all. Now I am bummed that he can't, haha. I will wait until the doctor says it's safe, I guess. I had a C section so I thought mayyyybeee it wouldn't matter, but now that I think about it.. it's probably better not to. damnit!

It seems like a long time, but it goes pretty fast. Plus, doctors often clear patients before the six weeks are up.

We didn`t (waited 3 weeks...we are weak weak creatures). It was fine, it hurt a bit at first, but once things started going it was pretty damn amazing.

I would suggest waiting it through the whole 6 weeks, though. I only had one stitch, and I only pushed my son out for 10 minutes. It was an easy birth (not such an easy 24 hours of labour, though)..so I felt it was okay for us.

Not at all. You wanted to know. I wanted to have sex pretty early on after Seth was born, but my stitch was REALLY sore and even peeing was excruciating. I think part of me was just missing that intimacy and wanting to feel like a `real woman`again..haha.

I`d say get the clear first, and then go ahead. From what I`ve heard, mama`s that had c-sections can have sex earlier on than those who have vaginal births. But that`s just my observations.

If it makes you feel any better it's been 7 months since I have had sex. but my husband is deployed. lol. It's probably easier not to want sex when he's not around. [but let me tell ya what, I hate watching movies with sex/love sceenes in them makes me want it even worse so i try to avoid that.] lol
