HOLY %$&#!!!

I think I just almost had a heart attack!!! My brother's Walker hound Rambo is in his pen in the back yard. Yeah, he's a hound, he has a deep bay, and when my brother is gone, he gets lonely and bays all night. My brother has a hunt with his friends tonight, so Bo is, like usual, going on and on and on. A few minutes ago, his voice changed and got low and mean, and then we heard a gunshot and Bo stopped. I almost had a heartattack!!! I swear I almost tore the backdoor off getting outside, because I was sure someone had just shot our dog!!! He's fine though, I went out and checked him over. He just stopped barking for some reason, maybe it scared him.

I was ready to go out and beat someone over the head with their own freakin gun! What the hell?! I still don't know where the shot came from. It's 10:30, who the hell is out with a rifle at 10:30 when there's nothing to freakin shoot around here?!

So I probably wouldn't go outside.Especially if I thought someone had a gun outside.

I would have freaked the hell out. (Although, I lived in WV, and I always heard guns going off. It always scared the shit out of me & my dogs.) Someone probably did it to stop him from baying. Can you bring him inside?

But they probably did it to get the doggy to be quiet.

Yeah, I mean, I understand that some people would do it to get him to shut up. But in our situation, you can't even see any other houses from ours. It's not like we have next-door neighbors. We live in the middle of the woods. Which further creeps me out, because who is wandering around in the woods in the middle of the night with a gun?

And he's too big to bring inside, haha. And we can't put him in the woodshed either because we just put a load in this week.

haha That crossed my mind, but the only thing you hunt at night is raccoons, and if they were coonhunting, I would hear their dogs too. *sigh* Stupid rednecks. Probably out spotlighting.

Oh, that sucks. We lived in Nitro (just outside of St. Albans, Charleston, etc), and we had people around us. We lived in the middle of the valley though, so if you went further up the mountains, there aren't as many people and houses are spaced out quite a bit more, so there is more hunting up there. There was a guy that had a bunch of chickens and goats and stuff, my friend lived near by. She heard him shooting his animals on a frequent basis.  

(Who does go out in the woods at 10:30 at night with a gun?! Freaks!)
Do you have a porch or something he can sleep on for the night?

Yeah, we moved his house to the back door and staked him right at the back porch under the light.

haha The only time I've been to Nitro is for wrestling tournaments, but I have family in St. Albans and Charleston
