gotta a quick question (not trying to start drama)

would you rather your child learn curse words off of you and know that they are bad then learn them from someone outside or when they start school?!

I ask this because my grandma just yelled at me and my fiance because my fiance is playing a video game and cursed....like he sometimes does......

I teach my son not to say certain words.....and he doesn't say them. he'll accidently say something sometimes but we tell him not too and that that is a bad word....well, my grandma says that we don't tell him what's bad or good when it comes to that and then contradicted and told my fiance that she did see that we do that........what the hell......

Well, since they will learn them, I'd rather they learned them from me so I could put them in context and let them know when they're appropriate to use and when they're not appropriate to use.

Or at least they came to me once they learned them so I could do so.

I'd rather my kids learn them from me. At least if know they already KNOW them, they can be taught that they're not appropriate, there's some times when they MAY be used...but by ADULTS, and NOT all the time.

Analisa knows the curse words and knows they are bad and will not say them. Yea its bad adults say bad words but children should learn they aren't aloud to say them.

To be honest I would like it if my son never learned to cuss because it would be better for him in the long run. But we all end up doing it so I guess I would rather himhear me say it and accidently say it around me so I can correct him instead of at school or in the store or something and have people think I dont know how to raise him.

Personally, I'd rather my child learn them from me. I think I'd have a better chance of teaching her that it's wrong to say these things than if she hears them from someone else and then I try to teach her it's bad. Kids at school and peer pressure are a much bigger influence on a child at that age than their parents are.

I'd rather them learn from me and know they are bad then learn from somewhere else and I wonder how does my child know this. My neice knows all the 'bad' words because my family has hard time bitting their tounge but whenever someone says one of these 'bad' words she gives you a stern look and goes 'Don't you say that, thats a bad word!!' She's only 3, lol.

I will admit....I cuss quite a bit and I've tried to cut down but I've come to realize that its not that easy for me lol. However, since I do cuss my daughter does have a very good understanding of what she can and can't say. She is really good at not using something that she thinks might bea cuss word (even if it isn't) she always asks if she isn't sure, ex: "mommy, is weirdo a bad word?". Lol, itcan be something as small as that to "mommy, is bitch a bad word?". I much rather her do it that way than go around calling people a bitch cuz she doesn't know that its a bad word. So obviously, I much rather her learn from me instead of someone else.

yeah, they are gonna learn it anyhow and I rather not have him start pre-school next yr or the yr after and the teacher call me and say that he's said this and that.......not only that but I don't need him repeating the kids around here and think it's ok or go to the store and say it aloud.......I rather have him know what is good and bad from me now......
