Period-like cramping

Hello everyone. I am 38 weeks pregnant and for over a week now I have been having cramps that feel very similar to menstrual cramps. I lost my mucus plug last week. Does anyone know if this means that I'm going to have my baby soon?

My contractions were period like cramps. Time them and see if they are regular. It could be close

I wouldn't get my hopes up....that may be my pessimism coming out LOL....my baby dropped about 3 weeks ago, lost my mucous plug about 2 weeks ago, been having contractions, dilated, effaced, and still.....no baby!!!
