They are cute!! Are they friendly?
But I have no idea what they are. They look like squirrels.

They are chinchillas.

They aren't like cats that will let you just sit and pet them. I just sit in the kitchen when they are playing and they run up and sit on me (but they never stay long ) or use me to jump off of haha.

That is seriously awesome! I've never heard of anyone have chinchillas as pets.
This is probably a dumb question.. but do you have to keep them in a cage at night? Or do they just sleep anywhere? Haha. Sorry for my stupidity!

Haha not stupid. I let them run around the kitchen until I go to bed then they go in their cage. You have to supervise the playtime because they will chew EVERYTHING including electrical cords. We just put a baby gate up (though chowder has figured out how to jump it) and put those plastic things in the outlets and let them run.

Adrian loves them but Lillian is scared. So she just watches them from a good safe distance lol.
