strech marks

posted 11th Oct
ok so I know that strech marks are going to happen one way or another, but I am only 5 months and have already noticed them getting pretty bad. I was told to use coco butter on them but that doesnt seem to be helping. Does anyone have any tips to minimize the apperance of them?

I use the J&J Vitamin E and Aloe baby oil when I get out of the shower every day. And then lotion before bed. It's worked wonders.

cocoa butter helps with moisturizing the skin to prevent how bad they get but once they're there I've heard that bio oil works really well.

Taking in some sun helped mine fade from that reddish/pink color to a very light peach. You hardly notice them now unless you look real close.

ya I heard bio oil is great, I've been looking for it, but I can't even find it at the mall. I use palmers cocoa butter lotion@ least twice a day. I am 36 weeks and don't have one stretch mark yet. It helps reduce the appearance of them as well, so since you already have them, if you just keep lotioning up, they should diminish significantly after you have the baby. I would deffinetly try the bio oil if you can find it though.

You can't prevent strech marks no matter what you rub all over yourself, lol. If you're going to get them, you're going to get them. Cocoa butter & other lotions/vitamins simply make your skin moist and allow the streching to not be painful & itchy.

Just hope they'll go away after your baby is here!
[I know I'll be thankful!]

I got some at walmart but I haven't gotten any stretchies yet so I haven't really used it.

They sell it @ Walmart, Safeway, Rite Aid. Your are supposed to use it throughout your entire pregnancy, it gives your skin elasticity so you wont get stretch marks. My friend only used it in her 9th month when she was starting to get stretch marks and it didn't do anythin to help her. I have used it since I found out and I'm 36 weeks prego and have no stretchies. Another friend of mine used it her whole pregnancy and got pretty big for her frame and got no stretchies either, I was surprised! It does work if you use it long enough before you start to get big and stretch.
