Try to go natural , its so much better for everyone .
Hypnobirth, tensmachine, sterile water injections - all non medicine forms of pain relief .

I had nubain before my epidural~ it was okay, it helped with pain, but it made me feel like I was drunk & I had a hard time keeping my eyes open because they were sensitive to the light. An epidural is great for the pain, but I hated the fact I couldn't move anything from the waist down.

I went completely natural with my daughter~ I was in labor for 34 hours so by the time I had to push I was exhausted! I would've gone natural with Jack too, but I was induced & it was a killer!

If I had to do it all over again. I would get nothing. I got the epi. right before I started pushing, but I don't regret it. I decided on the epi. because other people told me most of the other drugs made you feel "drunk" or "high" and tired. I didn't want that feeling. I felt 100% normal, which is what I wanted.

I am going to "try" to go natural. But I cannot really decide before I know the intensity of the pain and how I can handle it. I do not in any way want and epidural, but I want options besides that if I do decide. What are all the things you mentioned and how do they work?

Personally " NONE!"
Labor just isn't that bad. To me anyways. Its mind over matter. I say try to go without. I have friends who have did both ways with drugs and without. And they always say that they feel so much better when they don't have drugs. Good luck dear!

Natural!! The first one I had an epi was my first and the other 2 I went all natural. As i will try with this one. I also like to labor in a tub if the hospital/ maternity center you go to provides one.

personally i think these women saying to go natural are nuts. my hat is off to them. i had back labor and it was AWFUL.

i had stadol before the epi and didnt really care for it much. all it did was knock me out and i still felt the pain, in my sleep. everyone who was in the room said i kept grabbing at my back while i was sleeping. ive heard nubain makes you feel really loopy. if i had it to do all over again i would just ask for morphine. i was given morphone while i was pregnant for gall attacks so i dont see why you cant use it while youre in labor. it eases the pain and doesnt make you loopy, didnt me anyway.

good luck!

Natural is do-able~ really most drugs either make you comletely numb, or completely loopy   being induced makes it hard to go natural, but if you go into labor on your own, it gives you time to adjust to the pain. Good luck!
