yeast infection....help please

alright so im pretty sure i have a yeast infection. its swollen, itching, stinging but not when i go to the bathroom and i have discharge. o yea and its painful.....anyway well i called the hospital and they just told me to go get monisate and use it. its not working and i cant call my doctor till monday. do you guys know of anything i can do to stop the pain and stingingthat im feeling?

You know there are other infections you can get.
does it smell fishy or just nasty?
because you can have BV which has similar symptoms as a yeast infection but requires an antibiotic such as flagyl or something.
maybe you should call the doctor again.

did you get the 7 day inserts. it will itch for a little bit. You can also buy a kit to test for other infections but i think it is expensive

this may be tmi but get a cool damp cloth get naked waist down and spread out on the bed with a fan blowing....that might help

i take azo yeast pills once a day so it helps to get rid of it...also you can get yogurt plain of course but make sure it has acidolphilus (sp) and that will help sooth the itching

I was thinking I had a yeast infection starting last Saturday. But I was sooo busy I couldn't make a dr appt. or get meds (ive never been diagnosed so i didnt know if it was for sure one, but i assumed)...i went and got meds and called the doc anyway...and that was on Thursday. They couldnt get me in for 5 days and said that to just take the meds and if they didnt work then come in. So i tryed the meds that night and it BURNED sooooo bad and i had to try and get all of it out..

I haven't had the symptoms the past 2 days. but we just had sex for the first time in like 2 weeks and my whole "downstairs" haha is BRIGHT red and burning...I'm not sure if it's from the sex or from something being wrong. If it keeps up I'm def going to the doc. Suggestions??

A yeast infection left untreated can cause some bleeding. If you ahve ever seen a baby with Thrush so bad that when you wipe it that it bleeds its the same idea or a diaper rash that bleeds is the same thing. I would get in to a urgent care clinic if it is bleeding and its going to burn with you treat it bc it is open

can you go to one of those urgent care clinics. i have on e by my house andi just pay 30 and thats when i didnt have insurance. but you should go and see what they say. i had somthing like a yeast infection butit wasnt a reg. yeast infection it was vagintitis and i had like clumbs of white dough coming out my va ja ja.i dont even know how i got it but it was bad and my area was so raw. so the doctor told me to take monistat and i did and it didnt work so theni had to get a prec. and it dried it up and i had to dig out the rest of the crap that was in there and it was gross. sorrt (TMI)

Yea something seems off. I would go to the doctor.

I had BV at one point and it would burn and sting during sex and burn and sting while peeing.
My discharge looked somewhat normal, maybe a little more creamy but it had an odd smell to it.
does this sound similar to what you are feeling?

It's not bleeding, just sort of raw. But then again, it was fine until we had sex so it might have just been a little rough. Thusday evening when I tried the meds I wasn't having any symptoms but the skin was probably a little irritated because i had itched the outside   I haven't had any symptoms since Thursday morning but I'm not sure how it works. If it gets worse I'll go to a clinic, but if not I'll just wait till this week.

And....after the sex I laid in front of a fan with a cold washcloth! lol it felt relieving...but when i stood up the warmth of my body just about killed me !  

My yeasties always burn and sting for at least 24 hours if I use monistat. Also, I can't use the one day one, I have to do at least 3 or it wont take care of it.

well my doctors asst. called me and told me i hadlike a bladder infection or a uti i forgot but i was having like this greenish creamy lookinf discharge and she said it could just be the bladder infection or uti. but i have never had that before even when i had a std so i was like well i never had this when i had a yeast infectionin the past and she was like welll it might be the bladder infection .uti but if it didnt clear up that i shoud go to the doctor which will be next week, and i havne had any and i have taken all the med. tht they gave me thats was for like 3 days. but no funny smell. but it was really damp down there all the time and i was wear panty liners and i would put powder in them so i dont now what i was doing wrong

well are you prego bc i am and when i have sex it hurts and makes my area raw.

The hormones from pregnancy make it much easier to get a yeast infection. I found out I had one at my first checkup so they gave me this cream stuff to put up there and I used it for a few days but then my dog ate it   I know it's really gross, lol, but now I'm thinking that, since I didn't get to use it for the full week that maybe it didn't go away. So I know how you're feeling. I just feel so awkward talking to my doctor about it so I'm afraid to ask for medication. How did you guys bring it up?
