Another c section question.

My hospital didnt really tell me what to do. I called the doctor just waiting to hear back. Is it normal for it to pus not alot? and am i supose to put anything on it? i asked my mom because she had one also a while ago and she said no just let the warm water in the shower go over it. Just want to make sure i dont want it to get infected or anything. thanks mommas

I was told that if mine ever got like that to call my Dr asap because its not supposed to do that.

Yea my doctor said if there is any drainage to call.

I've had 3 c-sections and I was told that there could be a little bit of drainage and thats ok, but if it has a weird smell to it then I would go in. With my second kid I started getting a yellow discharge that had kind of a smell to it and I whent to the ER and found out I had an infection. They had to open it back up and pack it with gauze...had to do that for a month. It sucked.

Ohh I thought you meant a lot...well yah I guess a little is ok but if it starts to ooze I would worry lol

Mine is open in the middle and i was told to just shower like normal but pat it dry and change my packing (i know you dont have to do that but...) ButThe puss is ok, well at least not alot of it is ok. But if its green and red around You might have an infection. If your worried about it talk with your OB at your next appointment

Yeah and then they had to put peroxide in it and clean it out with a q-tip before they could put the gauze in....i hated it. and i had to go to the drs twice a week for a month and have the same thing done until it healed.

I just got outta the hospital thursday, they readmitted me for an infection. drainage is normal, pinkish, orange, yellow....green is bad. Mine wasnt even draining THAT bad but because I had a fever and chills, etc, they admitted me.

Again, they said drainage is normal, but if you have other symptoms - fever, odor, etc, then its time to worry. But always call ur doc - dont wait.

They had to stick qtips in my incision in the hospital and "open" it and squeeze everything out. wasnt fun.

Its probably ok. Because when I had mine it kept oozing and started getting crusty and then got the smell to it, so thats why I whent in to get it checked.
