18 and scared out of my mind!

posted 11th Oct
Im pregnant with my first child, and I have been doing so much research to get myself well prepared when the baby arrives, and frankly I think I'm just scaring myself because I see stuff and I get stressed out. I looked up breast feeding, and I heard there are alot of things that can go wrong, like not latching on, and then there is the ,"How long do I breastfeed?" I don't know why I'm stressing out with stuff like this, maybe it's just my hormones or something. Any one have the same problem, where you find yourself stressing over miniscule things like breastfeeding, changing diapers, crying?

anyone?

Yep. But, it isn't as bad when the baby gets here. Kaden had a hard time breastfeeding. But, there is always formula. You just got to take it one day at a time and see what works. And, changing diapers isn't really a big deal...

I think stressing is part of being pregnannt. You worry about all of the things that can go wrong, whether you'll be a good mommy, whetehr your baby will like you.. then you see them & all of those worries go away & you worry about all new stuff.. Being a parent is fun stuff.

im 27 and i am just as scared... its only natural because ... well its something we havent done before... ive read some really good books that ease my mind... 9what to expect when expecting and the first year.... etc) but this site has been by far the best thing for me... no matter what crazy thing my body does (trust me pregnancy is crazy!!) someone else reassures me that its happened/happening to them ... so stick around here and you;ll be fine..

I bet most mamas on here can relate to you, it's a normal thing to be worried about being the best mom for your new baby and like you, I will be a new mom and I am worried about TONS of things, but a lot of it will come natual...and if you're like me, you'll have help from family whose experienced!
I know I'll be one of those freaks probably waking my baby up every 30 min if I don't think it's breathing while sleeping, lol. I'm weird like that, I do it to my SO too when he's in such a deep sleep, I shake him cuz I think he's dead, LOL.
You'll be just fine, it'll be a discovery....trial and error. As soon as you know it, you'll be a pro !

I was scared with my first and i was 19. now im on my second and all that stuff i was scared about the first time never came true.... I would suggest a book that will answer your questions and put you at ease a little more. like "What to expect when you are expecting" I like that one the best bc it calms you down more than rials you up

I randomly started bawling one night, and asked Eric "The baby is going to hate me, isn't it?" He asked me why I thought that, and I told him I was going to be a bad mom, and he would hate me.   It's normal I guess, but it's started to get worse lately.

Haha... I had my fiance hold a couple of cousins around 6 mos, and he held them at arms' length like they were poopy diapers or something because he thought he was going to hurt them lol.

i was 17 when i got pregnant. and i read up on EVERYTHING lol and i scared myself soooo much. my advice just think positively. if you cant breastfeed then you can bottlefed. i had to, not by choice but my nipples would not allow it. and for how long to breastfeed it's really a perosnal choice. for me i would say 1 yr, becasue that's also when you're suppose to break your child of a bottle. but however long you feel comfortable.
you'll do fine. jsut make sure you get everything for the baby and dont stress, it's nto good for either of you. good luck and hope you have a wonderful pregnancy

I read everything, What to expect when your expecting, baby websites, I watch tv shows like bringing home baby. The one show that REALLY scares me is Jon and Kate plus 8...how does she do it?

for me it did. and it prolly will for you too. once you hold your daughter you'll know what to do....you'll have a few bumpy patches, which most neew mothers do. but you'll figure it out as you go.
