My sister LOVED the fact she went VBAC and I just read her this post and she wanted me to ask if you are dead set against finding another OB that encourages VBAC like hers did?

I had to have an emergency c-section with my son. 10 1/2 months later, his sister was born, but I was made to have a c-section. I asked a couple doctors and they said because I hadn't had time to heal properly.
You may have felt worse after your first c-section, especially if it was an emergency...it was AWFUL for me!! My second one was a piece of cake....I felt great and enjoyed my baby from right after she was born. I was out of it horribly after the first and sick and everything/
I am pregnant again, and it's been over 2 years, so I wanted to have a VBAC. My doctor refuses to let me and said that there's too much risk after c-sections.
If I were you, I'd doctor shop. Just get some other opinions from professionals. Good luck to you and I hope you are able to have a VBAC birth like you want...I wish I could.

My doctor told me that the recovery for repeat c-sections is a lot faster and easier with subsequent deliveries. He also told me that if you have a vertical incision on your uterus from the first c-section then VBACS are impossible, however, if you have a horizontal incision then it could be considered. Just a note for those that don't know. The scar that you see on your skin is not necessarily an indication of the incision on your uterus.

Sometimes it takes a fourth or fifth opinion---one mom said she got eleven before she found someone who would work with her. It really is about what you want and feel you are capable of. The website www.ican-online.org is great. My natural childbirth instructor and her sister both had VBACS, and that was many years ago, when they usually always did vertical uterine cesareans. I encountered one mom who had 2VBA2C. So give it some thought. Good luck!

Really I must say after watching my bestfriend give birth... Anyone who does it vaginally (ESPECIALLY without an epidural) is a hero... I had an emergency c-section with my son... and thought i was going to die afterwards.. But I'm having a repeat section because I'm not a hero... I seriously have ALOT of respect for women especially people like my mum who was crazy to have 5 kids naturally and no drugs..
Good luck

Lol, well, this is my first so I can't offer much to the c-section or vbac thing. I was just thinking about your comment about 5 kids naturally...Now, I don't know if my grandma had drugs or not...(I'm thinking she probably did...she's a bit of a hypochondriac...I can't imagine her not going for the drugs...lol) BUT she DID have all five kids within a year of each other...I mean, a year....My mom and her older sister are born the same month...so is the younger sister and oldest boy....It's just wow...o.0 How close were you all spaced?
