AHH!!

So its just past 8 am now and my babyshower is at 2! This will be the first time my family and my bfs family are really all together. I am kind of nervous..My family likes to be in control, and his family loves to be the center of attention. Anyways..I am not excited to open gifts infront of people. I have never really been good at the 'excited/surprised face'. Ever since I was little I was always blah when getting stuff. Its not that I am not grateful..I just suck at showing it.. Not to mention all the thank you's after everything..

People are telling me to just make myself act like that, but I suck..Thats why I didn't take Drama in school!!

Any advice??

I was soooo the same way. I just smiled a lot and said thank you a lot. Plus my mom was right there next to me so she pretty much took over on the "OMG THIS IS SOOOO AWESOME" part. lol. She's better at that than me.

i'm like that too, i would say try to imagine that your using it for the first time with your baby...that should get you somewhat excited. I dunno that's the best that i would be able to do anyways. If nothing else smile because you didn't have to go and actually spend the money on it haha

I was worried about that too I had mine last sunday and it went okay because you dread up until that moment and when you're actually doing it its like you really are excited and happy and it comes naturally. Plus I had my 2 year old cousin there and he was ripping open gifts taking the attention off of me! ahah but good luck and have fun!

ahaha welllll just hold up the things that aren't too heavy show them around smile and say thank you (but no one is really THAT interested in your gifts as much as you so keep it short) and keep it moving! no one wants to sit there through 50 gifts that they can't borrow or use. so be quick and it'll be over quick

Yeah I had to sit in the middle too lol but my mom sat right next to me with a little baby shower book writing down everything I got from everyone so I would have it when I went to write my thankyou cards.

I had that too. A little girl I used to nanny for came to my shower. She is two and she helped me open my first couple presents until she realized that they weren't for her and got bored. lol.

I held it in until I was done than went because then its just awkward. All you have to do is focus on the gifts and not the people around you. If you think no ones there you would smile right? Just focus on the gifts and your emotions come naturally therefore you get a better pic!

Haha lol i think you are working yourself up for no reason. I hate opening gifts but I promise it wasn't that bad. I'm not good at showing how much I like things either but I didn't do too bad at my shower.
I did have to pee about halfway through though... but I waited until we were done. I was too embarrassed to get up to take a potty break lmao.
