Bassinet to crib?

posted 11th Oct
When did you guys move your babies from the bassinet to the crib? I think I've read when they can roll over you are supposed to. Evan is only 4 1/2 weeks old but he has already rolled over a few times, I think by accident. But when I go to get him out of the bassinet after he has been sleeping, I've noticed he will be on his side instead of his back where I put him and his head will be really close to the top of it. Do you think it's time to move him already?

Well I have him in one of those wedge things so he can't completely roll over so if I took it out I don't know if he would. It just freaks me out when his head is really close to the top of it I don't want him to smush his face on the side and suffocate

if it worries you, then put him in his crib! My son would never sleep in his bassinett, and now has been in his crib since 8 weeks-would have been sooner though if we had gotten the crib sooner.

I know I was just dreading it because his room is on the other side of the house.. we have a monitor.. but still. This may sound dumb but do I take the bumpers out of the crib until later on? I know they are to stop him from banging his head but couldn't they be a suffocation hazard?

I had to move Ayden to his crib at around two months...he was a rolling freak of nature and started the back to belly/belly to back thing so early.

His crib is in our bedroom, and probably will be for awhile-neither of us are ready for him to be down the hall from us lol. We have our bumpers in right now but he doesnt move around the crib much. Once hes more mobile, we will take them out. They do make bumpers out of a mesh-like material, so they protec thier head from banging, but if they get thier face pressed into it they can still breathe just fine.

Hailey's crib is in her room and she has slept in it since day 1   I had a baby monitor and just got up and cared for her and then went back to my own bed.

You don't have to put them in a bassinet/PNP/etc .. They can go straight to the crib.

My daughter is 16 months old now and sleeps best in her crib   I can hear her fine down the hall w/out the monitor. Just last night I got up with her cause she woke for whatever reason.

We moved Charlie when he was like 5 weeks I think.....I just stuck the baby monitor in there. My poor hubby was getting NO sleep and neither was I since EVERY tiny noise Charlie made woke us....plus the pack and play took up a lot of space. We share a wall with his room so I am still pretty much right there.
