Oh she is definitely still my little baby haha. She is smaller than average too, so apart from her language she appears younger. Sof is smaller than some kids who are just learning to walk!

That's how my neice is. Teeny tiny but super verbal, it looks surreal seeing a kid her size talking like that.

That's how Brianna was. She was this little bitty thing saying ridiculously large words at a year old. I could tell her to say hippopotamus and she'd say it perfectly. It amazes me how some children develop those languages skills so early on and then other's it's later. Even in the same families. Because Hannah know one could understand what she was saying for...forever.

It is strange...It's also strange how they all end up the same, lol. I always laugh about how one of my little brothers talked super early, and he NEVER talks now, and my other brother walked really early, and he's the laziest person ever now, hahaha.

Why are the AP groups on Facebook so hardcore?

Its like if you don't follow every single aspect of it, then your just a poser and not an AP at all.

Wth?

I really dont want to name any. 2 in particular told me I'm not an AP because I didn't know any better at the time and got my son circumcised. So since he is, Im not an AP because I hurt my child.

I think that's dumb. I don't support circumcision, but AP is about so many things and it's not a checklist that you must tick all of the items on, it's about your attitude towards your child and their feelings.

Yuppers!! I think making your self adhere to a list of rules is ridiculous. Then it becomes militant and that's not any better.

I so agree with you! AP is about what is best for you and your baby and your situation. Maybe that means extended breastfeeding, bead shearing, ect. But maybe 1 of the things just can't work for you.

I am about as AP as it gets. I started elimination communication when I thought the time was best for us BUUUT before that I did not use cloth diapers.

Cloth was not best for my particular living situation. Now if you put me in a box and said I need to do A, B and C to be an Ap parent. If cloth diapering is part of that... well that is all just silly.

I think you all get what I am saying with my rambling.

Also I never say I am an AP parent. I am a parent and often find that the parenting techniques I use fit best in the AP category.

Sorry I kinda went on a big old rant ;)

I blame our medical system for that really....we are supposed to be able to trust what they say and we can't! I didn't circ my son but I probably would've if my fiance was cut and pressured me into it....I was (uneducated ) pressured into an unnecessary induction that led to an epi which I'm sure hurt my son since his HR dropped so low they rushed in and put an oxygen mask on me - thank God his HR went back up ( holy run on sorry). I LOVE reading natural birth storys but it does sting when those groups post things that bash women who got inductions...sry rambeling..Anyways my point is we as parents have this big dream of being perfect awesome parents before our kids are born...but we will all make mistakes and learn from them...we are growing too

I had no choice, I had to carry on with my education when DD was 8mos, so off she went to nursery. I've left her once overnight with my mum but don't plan to again soon, too much stress for Sof.

I mean I kind of have a choice...we are renting my Dads house from him...he said we don't have to pay as much as originally agreed on but my fiance doesn't like that...yet he wants me to stay home with our son too ...I feel like things would be less stressful but then again Idk for sure
On one hand I'm excited about starting work...on the other I'm scared and want to cry ...I'm a mess

I don't even know why so many people cluster a bunch of things not even pertaining to AP in with it. Circumcision, cloth diapering, EC, vaccines, etc. They have nothing to do with AP at all but people will tell you you're not for not doing hat stuff.
