Husband and Video Games [vent]

Sorry if this is long... 

So, my husband is OBSESSED with his XBOX...I think he loves his XBOX more than ME! He is in the Army, and when he gets done with "work" - aka playing with weapons and climbing on snow covered mountains in snowshoes  - he comes home and gets on XBOX live and plays for about 2-3 hours or more (usually more). I make dinner pretty much every night, and he expects dinner to be made (if not, it seems that way). I am SOOOO frustrated because I feel ignored half the time because what the heck am I supposed to do...sit there and stare at the tv like he does? I can't play with him because...1) the tv is "too small" for 2 player he says, and 2) i really don't like video games that much. He whines at me for being on my computer all the time...yet I'm only on my computer while he is playing xbox! Ugh. Men.

Anyone have advice for me? I've just gotten so fed up with all the bullsh** and I need a change or else this deployment coming up is not going to go very well! UGH. FRUSTRATION!   

    

Mine is the same way, goes to work comes home naps than plays xbox than go back to sleep, he never pays me attention...

hide his controllers and then tell him its time to talk and explain you will give them back when he has listened to what you have to say ...

I'm right there with you hun!! My hubby alternates playing live on the xbox to ps3... since different friends have different consoles..

And my hubby argues the same thing about me being on the computer...

Haha, Welcome to the club! I posted something like this once, but my fiance is OBSESSED with cars and looking at them and parts on the computer. he loves them more than me. =[ lol But i just nag and nag him and he finally compromised with me. He still sits here forever all day but at night time when kiddos in bed, we have OUR time, watch a movie. Im happy if he is. lol

i bought mine a ps3 for his going away gift so he could play it there and not here..well he played it here for hours on end..like he would go on at 8pm and get off at 4am then id hear the damn thing at 10am..he wouldnt even sleep in bed anymore..so i kept shutting it off on him and hiding the controllers lol he got mad but it made him realize it was really pissing me off!

I know the feeling...
my hubby is the same way!
He works all day, as do I, then comes home to play the PS3 for HOURS on end to 'wind down' while I clean, cook, etc. then has the nerve to complain if I'm not sitting there watching him... [he thinks thats spending time together.]
Excuse me for not enjoying WATCHING someone else play the same game.

oh trust me that is not the way to go i have done this before and it was the biggest mistake ever!!!! my bf gave me the silent treatment for 2 days until i just gave him the damn remote since he was crying about it

idk, maybe my b/f has just brainwashed me into thinking this, but...your husband...like you said, is out there "playing" with guns and climbing snow covered mountains everyday, it could be stressful. maybe he just needs an escape from it all. guys zone out when they play games...does he go out and hang out with his friends or anything or is it work and home?

Robert doesnt go out much anymore, he DOES play his game though. i dont mind at all. if i denied him of that...he might go crazy.

omg. yes, i think that he has this crazy view about that too...we aren't spending time together when i'm on one couch and he's on the other...STARING AT THE TV! UGH. it's like...you're about to leave for a year...can you at least show some sort of appreciation??!?!?!?!?
