Resume (1 more ?)

posted 10th Oct
So I need to doa resume and I do remember how (from high shool) but I think that it's too long and plain. I want one that is a little more catchy to the eye and short but of course professional. If you could please help me with great tips I will appreciate it much! Thanks!

**Edited to add**
Should I put that I am in College or no?

go into word "office" and type in Resume, in the search bar and it will bring up a bunch that you can just insert your info in!

Make sure to keep it on one page and only include relevant experience.

I go through a lot of resumes at my company, choosing who I want on my team, out of the people we've already hired, or are considering hiring. Anyway, here are just a few things that I like and don't like.

I hate when I can tell that they're stretching the truth. So keep it truthful, just use good words to catch their eye.
Don't use character references or witnesses if it's not a higher-up from a previous job, or a college professor. I've had people include things from their GRANDMOTHER.
Make sure it's all spelled correctly. Nothing turns me off faster than a spelling mistake.
Don't include extracurricular activities from college or high school, unless it directly pertains to that job.

Also, special paper makes ALL the difference. Just make sure it's tasteful, like a textured paper, or recycled paper, something like that. It'll stick in their minds more, in a good way.

i hated reviewing resumes.
don't spell anything wrong, dont list every class you took in HS, i never once used a reference from a resume so i consider those a waste of space.

but most of all...
nothing more than one page!!!

The character references from family members or friends are the best, aren't they! They make me crack up.

Yes, you should add what you're majoring in, and any pertinent classes that you've ALREADY taken, not the ones you are taking now. Say you are trying to get a job in a tax agency, any classes about tax preparation that you've already taken should be mentioned.

also, you should put which operating systems you are familiar with, and what programs.
like...windows or mac, and if you know office (excel, powerpoint, word, etc)
we hired a girl who said she was computer literate...she didnt even know how to search something in google. needless to say...she was fired.
