Question about pilates, one about bfing

posted 9th Oct
sorry didn't feel like making 2 seperate posts
Anyways my questions are, I feel like I am slowly drying up, I used to be able to pump 4-6 oz every time, but now can barely get 2. He eats for like maybe 5 minutes, then is content for 15-20 then screaming again. If I put him back on the boob, he will latch, then un-latch. He repeats that 5-6 times, then just starts screaming. I really didn't want to start formula, but I feel I have no choice as of now.. Do you think I am drying up, I have him on the boob constantly to try and increase it, but it has not worked

My other question is have any of you ladies tried pilates, and how effective was it for you. I have no vehicle so I cannot join a gym or anything like that, so I was thinking about pilates since I can di it at home, but don''t want to waste my money

i had the same thing happen, you're not drying up what it is is this: before your body was producing so much milk now your body has started producing only the amount of milk he needs. I find that if my daughter is having trouble latching on if i hold the boob area behind the aoela between two fingers so that it's flat the nipple will stick out more and she'll be able to latch on easier.

How old is your son?

Also, pilates are great - I would work out for 30 minutes a day and barely break a sweat, but feel like I had a good work out. And the results are good. I'd definitely recommend trying it out.

He is 3 months and 5 days.
He has absolutely no problem latching on, but he sucks for about a minute or two, and repeats the process.
Sweet, guess I will be getting a pilates video when we get paid

My son has been doing this too....It is very defeating. I feel horrible every time he does it. My breast especially the left one isn't as full, in fact it is deflated.

i will almost bet your body is finally regulating its milk supply, so it will become harder to pump, and your boobs will feel less full, but this is a good thing   it means your body is learnign the cues on when to produce and how much to produce. i wouldnt worry mama. and i have never done pilates, sorry.

Pilates is amazing! You will see results faster than you know it.

About drying up, I have never breastfed EVER and six month later I'm still leaking as all hell. Why couldn't I be dried up and you have the huge amounts of BM.

I like the ones you can get at Target. They're pretty specific as far as target areas - I especially like the ab workout DVD.

I've thought about walking as well in the evenings with the baby. As for eating I dont really eat that much. i completely suck a cooking so I'm sure eating healthy will be my biggest issue.

raw vegggies and dip are easy   freeesh fruits i know it can get expensive
also just drinking h2o is a HUGE help. only allow yourself ONE glass of something else...and you will learn to appreciate it a lot more..haha

of course its hard to do, maybe just do it m-f and weeknds drink/eat whatever. dont deprive yourself, if you have to have it, do it. but make it worth it...ya know
