toys

posted 7th Oct
okay so what kind of toys should i have for my 1 month old boy? i have 2 swings and a small tummy time gym thing, but he doesnt seem very interested in them at all and god forbid if i put him in a vibrating chair. so what else can i get to hold his attention when i'm busy? and on a side note is it normal for him to be picking his head up and holding it up and turning it from side to side?

I don't have much.
I have a tummy time mat and small boppy for her, but she hates it.
I have a "bouncer" that she sits in most of the time.
My mom has a swing at her house.
I have TONS of rattles and stuffed animals though.
Thats about it.
My Gma is getting a few toys for her for Christmas, but little babies are hard to buy toys for..they can't do much...

I think its normal for him to be doing that, my little one was... as far as toys go... there's not a lot you can give a 1 month old that will keep him/her occupied for long.. maybe you can get a sling (one that frees both of your hands) and carry baby through the house with you while you do chores? I couldn't do much the first few weeks Dylan was home due to a csection so
I just held him and talked to him mostly. lol, sorry I'm not much help

he sounds like a very strong & healthy little boy!!! when my girls were that age all they did was sleep!! which is what they do best...but they enjoyed laying on their tummies over a boppy pillow (if u don't have one i highly reccommend!!) but other than that and a swing, bouncer, and activity gym there's not much else that they do! just enjoy this time cause it doesn't last long!!! lol.

My lil guy came out of the womb and lifted his head up off of my tummy. So I think its kinda normal. What isnt normal is them to have complete control of it. It will be really bobbely for a wile. My lil guy is almost 3 months now. Im telling you right now a sling or baby bejorn is a must! It is so helpful because it frees your hands so you can do dishes, laundry, etc. As far as toys we have a bouncy thing that I put him in sometimes its got toys that dangle infront of his face and he still doesnt seem thrilled about them yet but he loves to be boucned. We also got a rocking thing too which was nice in the beginning when he slept all the time but now he just fusses when you put him in it. He now loves his mobile for some reason and laughs and kicks his feet when I put it on and crys when it stops. For a one month old there really isnt much. They really dont care about toys at that stage so Id say anything that will sooth him.
