Jerk!

Ok, I know that it's illegal to talk on your cell phone without a headset, but DH called today about 1 minute before I pulled up at the store so I answered my cell. A second later, I look in my rear view mirror and I'm getting pulled over! He gave me a ticket for talking on my phone without a headset. I thought he might give me a break since I had Bradley with me, but no! He was such a jerk too. It is so lame because I'm a good driver and always try to follow the rules. I think it's a dumb law. Does anyone know how much the ticket is in CA?

I just visited Cali and I talked on my phone the whole time I was driving. It's not illegal in TX, I am so glad I didn't get pulled over. Side note: that was a really shitty thing to do, cop must have been bored.

i think it's actually illegal for them to pull you over for that specific reason... like, they can pull you over for speeding or breaking another law... and site you for talking on your cell phone while they're at it... but i don't think they're allowed to pull you over for that reson and that reason alone. i'd do some research. there's alot of loopholes with new laws like that.

It's not illegal here. I dread the day it is. I hate using my bluetooth. I paid $85 for it and it's just a pain in the butt!!

Yeah, well I was in the next city over and the cops there are notorious for being bored and giving lame tickets. I'm so mad!

if they think talking on the phone while driving is bad...they should see how many people text and drive! Now that is dangerous!

I didn't know that! I definitely wasn't speeding and he said that's the only reason why he pulled me over. He also wrote the wrong day of the week on the ticket. Dumbass!

They can actually pull you over for that and no other reason.  I think it's a great law (until I get pulled over)  Some people have  a difficult time driving without a distraction, let alone a cell phone in one hand.  I'm sorry that happened, I hear those can be PRICEY tickets.

You aren't the only one doing it.  I found myself using the cell phone when I was at a stop sign the other day.  It was totally accidental and I hung up as soon as I realized what I was doing.

I hate my bluetooth too. It takes hours for it to connect!

i cant talk on my cell phone while driving, at all, lol. i use speakerphone.. i mean, my hands are free, so its the same difference, right? lol.

That's junk. Good to know that those type of cops are everywhere though. My fiance got pulled over a couple weeks ago and the cop turned around to get him and he (my fiance) pulled into a driveway to see if the cop would just keep going, but the cop pulled in behind him! I've never seen a cop do that before!!! He was a big jerk-o too. He was just waiting to see my fiance driving his truck since he saw it parked on the side of the road, thought it was abandoned and looked it up, found out the previous owner has a suspended license (he just bought it and never put it in his name yet... ). So yeah. Some cops are just jerks. I'd almost go to the court date and see if you can't get the amount reduced. Especially if you explain the situation to the judge.
