fosterchild???

so i have a 4mo baby girl and i want to look into getting a fosterchild. i just feel like i can help! so i have some questions.
do you know anyone who has a fosterchild, how is it working out?
do you know of any requirements?

well my friend loretta was a foster child, and she ran away cause all kinds of trouble soo just be prepared for the worst lol GOOD LUCK

You have to be older than 19.

check with your local child protection agency. They maybe able to tell you all the things you need to know.

I'm pretty sure you have to be older than 19. And, you have to make a certain amount of income.

I know a family who fostered 13 kids...then adopted them. They are the sweetest kids but have issues because of their backgrounds

my husband and i were foster parents for about 3 years to over 30 kids...you have to do lots of classes and background checks...its not easy and you cant just decide which kid to foster

I don't know much about it, but I can say good luck. It is a lot of hard work and is quite challenging. If you can do it and have the patience for it, more power to you. I grew up around a lot of foster kids and some were great, while others were quite difficult and a challenge.

i was fostered last year. ( i'm 15) i got put in fostercare because of my background, i'm back living with my dad now. I loved being in fostercare you should go to a soical work department and they will tell you what to do and how to foster children

Im 19 and my Husband is 21! We were going to do foster parenting because I wasnt suppose to be able to get pregnant because of cervical cancer I had when younger! 4 years remission! But anyways .. usually they want you to be married , over 21 and been married for a year at least! There are TONS of classes and Yep you get a Background Check and they keep close eyes on ya! You have to make over a certain income, have a home evaluation -like to see how many bedrooms, space , is the house safe, baby proof , etc! Sometime you have to pay for the home visit...etc! The best thing to do if you have questions is call your county family services place or call the court house they should be able to redirect you! You can get information at any age over 18, but usually you cant help til after that! If your place of living offers a Big Brothers Big Sisters Program though you can be 18 to do that and its still helping a child!
