help, pre-elampsia questions!

so,
i just got out of the hospital from 4 days ago and i was diagnosed with pre eclampsia, for the most part im not showing symptoms, a little head aches, a little nausea, and some spots, but my blood pressure went waaay down and im stable so they are going to keep me monitored and have me go to the high risk doctors 3 times a week.


my question is;
how long do you think it will be until i get induced? our goal is to make it to 30 weeks, but they gave me the steriod shots so in 48 hrs i will be safe to have her.

maybe a little advice from all you mommies out there who experienced this?

I don't have pre-e but I was high risk with my first due to placenta previa and had the steroid shots as well. I was told that they weren't given because I was def going to have the baby but rather as a just in case something goes wrong and they do have to take him early. Cuz if an emergency happens they don't have the 48 hours to wait that it takes for the shots to take effect.

you wont be SAFE to have her....I had the shots and still risked my baby needing a ventilator to breath being born at 36 weeks....luckily his lungs were fully developed....you need to pray you at least make it to 34 weeks...30 weeks is still very risky....how is your baby measuring...I went to the dr's also 3 times a week bc of the same issues....biggest advice is bedrest...no salty meals.....but bedrest bedrest.....like my dr said...up to pee and thats it....back to bed...

I have never experience pre-e but a friend of mine had it.. she was put in hosptial on friday night and she had him on suday morning! Her son was born 2 months prem.

I'm in the hospital right now on bed rest because I have pre-eclampsia. You're lucky you got to go home! My blood pressure isn't decreasing, its been consistantly high. I'm 36 weeks right now and am scheduled to be induced Friday. The only advice I can give you is to rest as much as possible. Don't be out of bed if you don't have to be. Don't eat things with a lot of salt, either. Good luck, momma. You and your baby girl will be in my thoughts!

that really sucks and were both having christmas babies remember?so no having her early,understand?tell her to stay in your tummy!!lol

I have a complete placenta previa too but I haven't gotten any steroid shots for her lungs yet... Will I get them?

When I got them it was mostly because they discovered the previa when I went into the hospital at 29wks 4 days with my water leaking and having contractions 3 min. apart. After the exam I started bleeding a river down the hospital hallway and the doc then assumed that I had a previa but that wasn't confirmed until I got an u/s. All that together, he was worried that they might have to take my son by c-sec within a couple of hours or days. So he gave me the shots hoping I would hold out for at least two days. But yay miracles, I held out till 39 wks and my marginal previa moved back at 36wks so I could have him naturally. I have heard of some docs (in Canada) giving them b/w 30-32 wks as a precaution but mostly I think they only give them if you're showing signs that they baby might come early.
