27 weeker!!

My son Carter was born at only 27 weeks along. I had pre eclampsia and it was early onset. We were both in high risk for dying especially if I were to try and have him naturally. The doctors of course told me all the possible problems that come with being a preemie and scared the daylights out of me. I was in the hospital on bedrest for a week hooked up to monitors and fluids (mainly magnesium...bp was 196/119 when I got there). Carter was born on my 1st wedding anniversary and was 1 lb. 14 oz. and 13.5 in long. He wasn't due til Sept. so I wasn't supposed to bring him home til then. He came home Aug. 15 at 4 lb 1 oz but could breath and eat on his own. I didn't have to bring home anything but baby! He is now a little over 8 lbs and is 19 in long! He is the most adorable baby I could ever imagine! He is already the most spoiled baby I know!

Congrats!!!! My son that is in my pic to the right was a 27 or 28 my doc and his doc had some disagreement on which week   he was also born early due to preeclampsia he is now 19 months old and is way more advanced then the term babies in his age group!! I am always happy to hear about preemies that are doing so great!!!! Once again Congrats!!!

Congrats! We love meeting new preemie mommies! My 28 weeker will be 3 tomorrow! *tear* and I also have a 30 weeker. Glad your little man is doing so well!
