posted 6th Oct
Does anyone know if this is normal? I had originally gained 7 lbs in my 17 weeks... but it also only took half a week to lose 10 pounds... I cant keep anything down and I dont know if this is just a bad week, or if I need to go to the ER...??? If anyone has ANY IDEA let me know please... Im honestly freaked out....

Drink lots of fluids, I know that they are probably coming back up but you still need to hydrate while your sick. I have been sick all day and night throughout my entire pregnancy. Good luck!

Vomiting and nausea is common, i had it really bad until about 18 weeks.

But if you are not able to get any food, your baby isnt getting any nutrients, you may want to talk to the doctor.

drink a lot of water..and ginger ail might make you feel better.. stay hydrated and rested. if you think its too bad, give your doctor a call. the nurses get tons of people calling every day with a zillion different questions. i call them at least twicea week with a question.

You probably need IV fluids if you've lost that much weight quickly and have been vomiting so much. You are probably pretty dehydrated.

Do some research for yourself at http://www.helpHER.org
It's a site about hyperemesis gravidarum which is a debilitating and potentially life-threatening pregnancy disease marked by rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration due to unrelenting nausea and/or vomiting with potential adverse consequences for the newborn(s).

It's something I have been suffering with since about 4 weeks, so PM me if you have any other questions...

But... I'd go to the ER and get checked out and get some fluids... They should be able to give you something for the vomiting too.

You should at least call your doc because you need to keep at least fluids down. They can prescribe something to help you. My doc gave me Regalan(sp?) and it worked great.

i feel for you! I had bad morning sickness to. My doc told me that if i couldnt keep anything down for 24 hours to go to the ER or if they were open to go there. I would go in to the ER it wouldnt hurt. They wont get mad at you and if they do who cares. Whats important is you and that baby.

it a part of being pregnant i was the same with my son but in my first trimester some women by past it and get it in there 2nd or 3rd trimester, Ice chips and tea help alot , you must find something that can actually stay down and allow your body to get teh fluid it needs, mainly a drink which the best of course is water. Eatting may make you more and more naseauted. If it seems as if your getting really weak and dizzy like you may be dehydrating and will then need to go into ER but try ice chips, i was sick like that with my son from 6-16 weeks of my first pregnancy and i couldn't move i was so weak, i just slept all day long, my doc had told me then its normal part of pregnancy and to just eat ice chips and if things got worse like dizzyness or blacking out like than go into ER but i never got that bad

There are a few drugs that they can give you, Reglan is one for sure, but dramamine, unisom and b6 combo, benadryl helps a lot of women too, zofran, phenegran, bonamine...

I've been on all of them (except dramamine and benadryl because I'm allergic to those)

You can also go down to CVS or Walgreens and get anti nausea medication. It is like cough syrup. It is fine to take while pregnant.
