Lower ab pain common in third trimester?

I'm a little over 31 weeks pregnant and the last few days, I've noticed that I have some pressure/discomfort/slight pain at moments in my lower abs....Is this just pelvic pressure from the baby pressing down? Or should I be worried about preterm labor....If on a scale of 1 to 10, bad menstraul cramps are a 10, this pain is more like a 1 or 2, just barely painful....

i would imagine they're the braxton hicks contractions...i've had some of the same pains and it seems that as my pregnancy has progressed (34 weeks today) it's gotten worse, im not a dr by any means lol so im just guessing...

Talk to a nurse of your doctor to see what they think. That same thing happened to me with my first son but I think I was alittle further along. He was just trying to get himself in position and he never turned head down after that. But all pregnancies are different. But your best bet would be to go and ask your doctor or a nurse.

I'm feeling a lot of the same things. Along with some sharp pains here and there. I was told it was normal stretching. And the baby moves fine, and I can use my fetal doppler to listen to his heartbeat.

I really wouldn't worry about it, unless the pain becomes intense. If you really feel like you need to don't hesitate in calling the Dr.

They are normal Hil! Just getting to be about that time, babys head is probably settling down, thats prob what your feeling my dear, and also BH can be causing that too.

I get that too, especially during and for a little while after I walk...sometimes (usually) it's in my lower abs, every now and again it's in my pelvis/crotch area. Normal for me, but don't be afraid to call your doc if you're still unsure.

Slightly o/t, but I think I had my first BH last night! I felt an odd sensation in my lower abdomen and initially thought it was the baby moving, butsomething was just a little differentso I put my hand on my lower abdomen and felt the muscles tense and release.   Sooo cool!

I am getting that too, they feel more like cramps, and i do feel a little pressure sometimes too
