I am thinking about getting a back piece Or a side piece...Still deciding but I have been wanting it for a while, I have been wanting to get Angel wings or some kinda of flowery scene because I have a butterfly with my sons name above it already and it would go with it and everytime I have another child I will add to it. Anyone have back tattoos and want to post them here and tell me a price range on how much they are. I know the one I want is going to be VERY expensive because its going to be my whole back.

it really just depends on the price of the shop.....obviously, if you go with a more experienced custom artist, you will pay more....and i wouldn't do a large piece (or anything) for that matter without going to a couple of different places and looking at the artist's portfolios and talking to them....make sure what they do is what you like.....don't be rushed in to it....but, you WILL want to shop around.....it took me a year and a half to find the artist that I have stuck with for most of my work....and let me tell you, it was TOTALLY worth it!

yeah...i guess the best advice is just to make sure that the artist can actually draw and doesn't do flash art......it is best to find one that has the same style that you are looking for......meet up for a couple of consultations and make sure you like their attitude!....last thing you want to do is be stuck getting tattooed for hours with a total asshole!

i couldn't agree more
some shops do it, and they really shouldn't....you should only keep it covered for an hour and then wash it off with water/mild soap like dial....NOT ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP and no sort of lotion or ointment or ANYTHING.....it is NOT good to put it on there while it is healing....it is SUPPOSED to scab and it is definitely not good to pick at it
