Sometimes I can't see my son..

Like when I'm thinking about things I want to do in the future, sometimes I can't picture a child there. I totally forget about him sometimes. Today I was talking to my mom about how I would really like to go to Africa in a few years to work at a wildlife conservation, and she was like 'And where will Scooter be?' (She gives him a new 'nickname' like every other day because I haven't thought of a name yet.)
To make it even worse, I don't even picture Brandon (my fiance) in the future half the time. But everytime he talks about his plans, I'm in them. It's always 'We're' going to do this, and 'we're' going to do that. But all I seem to think about is myself.  
Does anyone else feel this way sometimes, or I am the only immature self-centered girl on BG?

Once your son is here, you will picture him in there. It's hard when you can't see them....you don't have to feed them, bathe them, etc. As far as your SO, I'm not sure!

=)j/k I will admit i have done this quite a few times too. I just pictured myself doing more things in my life before getting 'tied down'(not that i feel that way).

do you live with your SO? how long have yall been together?
Before i was married I thought about our future but I also thought about just my own. Once you marry and settle into your life you'll think about it in a "we" type manner instead of "I". Your son isn't hear yet so that will settle once he is .. and even after he's born you'll still have to get used to planning your life around him.

I don't live with him yet, we haven't found a place that can fit our budget. We've been together for 2 years.
It's weird, because we used to live together (about a year ago) and had all these 'we' plans. But now that he's not always around, I forget he's supposed to be included.

Why don't you take Scooter to Africa with you? As long as you still have Internet access and can still come on BG, I say go for it.

Believe.. it will ALL sink in once he is here! You wont have time to forget he is around   and I agree that you should just take Scooter with you... It's an experience most kids never get to have.

For some reason, the thought of taking him with me just didn't cross my mind.
But now it sounds like a good idea. I'm probably thinking too far ahead.
That's what happens when I stay up until 6am.

A lot of the tine when I think about the baby, and have little snapshots in my head, my DH isn't in the photo.

i know what you mean! i used to wake up & forget that i was pregnant. & when i picture the future, i never think of my bd. lmaooo.

i think once he's here . . you won't be able to picture doing anything w/ out him. At least , that's how it is for me .
