gassy baby!

posted 4th Oct
My son seems to get really gassy when he's eating. I try and burp him periodically throughout the feeding, but he seems more focused on rooting and looking for more food rather than burping (especially when i'm trying to burp him with his chin in one hand with him leaning forward... he wants to root on my knuckles!). If I don't burp him, it seems like he spits up half of his food and just gets hungry again. How can i make him burp better?

Uhm if he were breastfed, I would assume it was something you were eating. Maybe he needs a soy formula. Thats for gassier babies.

my cousin taught me this trick bc my lil has never been much of a burper either...after feeding, lie the baby flat on the back, i usuallt just lay her down in her back on my knees and talk to her for a minute or so, then pick them up ovrt your shoulder an burp, sometimes thats the only way i can get a burp out of her. try that

My son is not much of a burper either and would never burp in that position. He seems to prefer releasing his gas from the other end
When I know he needs to burp The only way I can get it out of him is to put him belly down against my chest and bounce him a little. He usually gets it out after a minute or 2.
