How 2 Tie Shoes

Well my little brother is 4 about to be 5 next month and I'm having a hard time teaching him to tie his shoes. I'm telling him to make 2 bunny ears and then do it but it's not working for him! And its actually starting to upset me! Do you ladies hava any ideas on how I can make it easier for him?

does he have one of those mikey mouse dolls with the button snap tie on it by any chance?

that toy is the best way to teach it.

No he used to have one at our Gradparents house but when we moved we some how lost it

I think that's a really good idea, actually. It makes it more of a game. I'll have to remember that for the future.

Loop swoop and pull

well the thing is when i try to show him how keep an open circle so he can see what he's pulling it through he is having a hard time and he just wraps them around eachother instead of pulling one side around

i've tried the bunny ears and right now I'm trying the loop swoop pull, but i think it might be working, not sure yet

I use to tie my laces in knots before I learned how to tie my shoes LOL it takes a bit of practice don't expect him to learn it right away

I dont but when he cries becuase he cant get it that annoys me

Kids are Kids sweetie. They'll cry, it's normal.

i was able to teach my oldest sister in about an hour. she was 4.
my other sister (she turned 6 last month) took a few days to get it. 
you're just going to have to be patient. 
can anyone else give it a try? 
are you getting him to try it with you, while you say the words?

yea he uses one shoe and im doing the other, he's picking up on it but were home alone til tuesday and i wanted to make everyone proud of him by the time they get back but i figure he'll get it on his own time!
