Quoting Charity loves Talon:“ how long did it take for your babies to lose their cord? Talon's refuses to fall off! He's 9 days old ... [snip!] ... not to put onesies on him until he lost it. he has so many clothes, i'm sick of dressing him in plain shirts and a diaper!”
Quoting TabithaLove:“ They told me 7 to 10 days...Have you been swabbing with alcohol to dry it up? Does it seem like it is drying up well?”
Quoting TabithaLove:“ They told me 7 to 10 days...Have you been swabbing with alcohol to dry it up? Does it seem like it is drying up well?”yeah, we swab it with alcohol at just about every diaper change, and a few times in between. When it started bleeding we cleaned it with alcohol. it is very dry to the touch, feels sort of scab-like. it sticks out still though, that's the worst part, because i'm so scared it'll snag on something and get ripped off.
Quoting fierce:“ They say not to use the alcohol unless it's bloody or gunky...something about killing the good skin ... [snip!] ... cells. I'm not totally sure, that's just what the nurses told me the whole time my son was in the NICU. His fell off after 3wks”

Quoting Christina714:“ fountain valley NICU?”
Quoting - Kat & Emmie - [[BBC]]:“ Yeah, at my hospital, they said alcohol isn't needed. They even said water isn't too bad for it either. ... [snip!] ... too bad for it either. The day she was born, the nurses bathed her in a little bathtub. I never had to give her sponge baths.”
Quoting fierce:“ I don't know, my son was in such a critical condition that outside of the bath he got after he was born ... [snip!] ... where they'd clean his face and fat rolls he couldn't have a bath until he stabilized which was around about 2-3wks...it sucked”
Quoting - Kat & Emmie - [[BBC]]:“ aw that's sad. I'm glad he's better now!”
