dads last name?

I am about 2 months along. Maybe a little more I wont be sure till I visit the doctor. But already I am thinking for the future. The father of my baby is no longer in my life. And wont be around for the baby either. I dont want to give the baby his last name. Mostly because I dont think he deserves that much. I am in a constant battle with Kevin, the father. But its extremely difficult to deal with someone who has just runaway and turned to drugs and alcohol. He has done nothing but push abortion and tell me all I want from him is child support. Im to the point that I dont even want child support from him because I dont want him to hold that against me or tie me to him for the rest of my life. Am I being a bitch? Or am I totally sane for wanting the baby to have my last name. Also for a girl I was thinking Faith or Faythe... or something along those lines but with different spellings.
Thanks for any feedback! I would love to hear what other moms have to think. Im alone in all of this, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You are not wrong at all for that. I know a few people who have been in similar situations and gave the baby their own last name. I think if he does not want to be a part of your lives, then it should be you and your baby and you should use your last name! Good luck to you darlin!

Dont give the baby the dads name. It'll make it more difficut for you in the future, you'll need to bring a birth certificate to everything to prove that you are the mommy and its really nt worth it if he's not apart of you're life.

As far as the names go, I think 'Faith' just because no one is going to spell it right the other way and thats going to get annoying

I'd give the baby my last name and not that asshole's! He can't get mad because he didn't even want her!

My sister gave her baby boy our families last name and his middle name is the fathers last name. But she did that for her baby so he know that he has a dad somewhere, to give him some identity. Its your choice if the father does not pay child support and has no part of the process of getting ready for bay give the baby your last name. 

I agree. Don't even bother. He doesn't want it apparently so why do it? It'll be much easier having your last name for your baby...

Yeah, pretty much. My BD hasn't given me money once for Emmie or bought her anything. at all. He barely ever sees her. So yes I am a single mom.

my older daughters have their dads last name. we broke up in 2006 and i WISH i wouldnt have given them his name. i hate it. its ot a name to be proud of. i want to legally change it, so i called vital statistics and they said it would be 130 dollars all together 9for both) i wa slike..alright..thats awesome...then she said AND a court paper syaing you have sole custody of them or a legal document stating you have the fathers permission. well i couldnt find that asshole anywhere..and now i know where he is...hes in jail, and the whole lawyer process wont start until i can get to the city t o fill out the papers...which wont be until friday.

i dont know whay i told you all this...but..just think about it...really hard.(could be the alcohol)
