C-section Hell

posted 3rd Oct
I really had no idea how hard it would be trying to recover from a c-sec. This pain is crazy. Plus I might have an infection, my incision is draining some and they put me on antibiotics. Im taking pain meds, motrin, antibiotics, prenatals, stool softeners, geez! This is no fun, but def. worth it, I love my baby, I just cant wait to feel good and be able to enjoy things more. Breastfeeding hasnt worked, due to my pain and no patience and the nurses giving him a bottle in the hospital. I do pump and put some milk into his bottles though, just havent done it religiously. Not sure the point of this, just thought Id vent a little I guess.

It is normal for the incision to ooze a little, as long as it doesn't have a nasty color or odor.

C-sections aren't that great to recover from but it beats laying in bed for so many hours waiting to push something out.

It was green for a day, then I started the antibiotics and now its just pink (sorry tmi). After laboring for 18+ hours with no progress past 5cm, it was worth it   Sooo scary though, for me atleast.

I had a c-section also. It was hard for me to get around. I had no pain at all. I never touched the morphine at the hospital and I never touched the pain meds at home either. ( I get sick from them anyways) I did get an infection and that really stunk. Other than that I was glad I had to have a c-section because they took her out in 5 min.

How the heck did you have no pain, you were lucky. My incision feels like burning and ripping when I try to stand and of course I cant laugh or cough or anything without pain. Its not fun.

If you need to cough or laugh try using a pillow against your stomach. It will hold everything together in place.

I had a C-section and it was a fairly easy recovery for the most part. The hardest part for me was getting out of bed in the morning or standing up. It felt like my incision was going to rip open.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. It will get easier.

I don't know how come I had no pain. This was my first child too. They always asked me what was my pain level and I said 1. The only thing I hated about it was the infection. It will get easier though.

Every day is going to get better from here on out....promise!! I wore a belly wrap some of the time and think that helped with the pain...(also made me look skinnier faster!) Make sure to take your drugs on time so that you always have something fighting the pain...it sucks...but soon you will be feeling good..
p.s.  if you want to keep pumping you might want to start doing it on a regular basis or you will probably lose you supply...
