(repost) kidney reflux question

my daughter was diagnosed with kidney reflux at 1 1/2 years old and then my younger daughter was also diagnosed with the same thing at 2 years old! My older daughter has been retested for it and it was at a grade4 which isn't the worst (they say 5 is needing surgery) but they say she should outgrow it but if not than she will be on meds her whole life or have to have surgery... my youngest daughters was only grade 1 which means she will more than likely outgrow hers........ they have both taken the same medicine everyday and the Dr's say they wont get immune to it but i don't understand how they don't get used to it and it stops working for them!! my question is has anyone ever dealt with kidney reflux before and if so did your child outgrow it or did they have to do surgery??? any advice is appreciated

i feel your pain. my 1 month old has this problem. she is at grade 3. im hoping she outgrows it. i certainly dont want her to have to be on meds her whole life but the doctor says if she doesnt outgrow it by 1 year she will maybe need surgery. She did hasa UTI and just got out of the hospital because of that.. its such a pain. but atleast shes ok. I wonder why theyre not suggesting surgery since yours is already 2?? hmm...
