baby position

posted 3rd Oct
Once the baby is head down and locked into position can it still change. The reason i ask is bc he has been head down causing lots of pressure all month and random contractions, but the last few days the pressure is gone and so are the contractions. Can someone tell me if it's possible for him to move back out of the birth position?

When I went to the hospital in labor with my 3rd, he was breech (I didn't know it) and they had me walk around and he flipped over so I'm guessing that's another time I narrowly missed having a c-section.

That's what they thought but when I got there I actually had a very good nurse who could feel from the outside that he was head up. I am glad that they didn't tell me this as it would have made me nervous. Usually once mine are head down, they stay that way.

no they should b positioned head down, they dont move as much because you're body is getting ready for labor. but it can happen, they could become breech but your doctor would of noticed and you would of been rushed to OR to have an c section. your fine he will b out healthy and safe.

they can flip back into breach position but my doc said that would only happen if they didn't have enough room - like they won't fit through your pelvis.
