Registering..

posted 2nd Oct
I've been picking stuff out on walmart.com, but I'm having troubles finding stuff that's actually in my local store. I went in today, went to the registry machine, assuming I could just pick stuff out and update my registry there at the machine.. No such luck, I think I may sound stupid asking this..

But, how the hell do you register..? Do you go and pick the stuff out from the baby section and then scan it? Or, whaaa?! I'm so confused.

At the Wal Mart in my hometown, you go to the jewelry counter, they give you the scanner (after taking your info), & you go scan the items you'd like.

Yeah, I just read that at walmart.com.. I decided to click the ever-so-wonderful help link. That's pretty nifty, actually.

what sucks at walmart is that not all of them carry the same stuff and the .com store has different stuff too- I registered at Target and Babies R Us because their stores universally have pretty much the same things because they are stocked that way to make it easy on registered people- I would NEVER register at wally world for that reason.

In my hometown (where we lived whenI had my son), there is nothing but Wal-Mart, so sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. Here in Tucson, I would never register there...it is dirty & digusting. The merchandise is bottom of the barrell.

all of the people who came to my shower didnt live where I do so they were close to Target and babies r us- all we really have out here is walmart but I drive an hour to go to the mall and target and occassionally drive to babies r us which is well over an hour drive

We lived in the middle of nowhere NM...& everyone who came was either from there or near there. The closest Target & Babies R Us are over an hour & a half's drive....so that's why we had to!

Ifwe have our next child while we are livinghere, I will still go back home & register at that WM there because my loved ones there will only have there to shop at.

Yeah, y'know.. That'd be awesome if I didn't live in a small town with only a WalMart and a K-mart, but thanks.

I just wanted to say I had the same problem online. I found all this awesome stuff to add. And about 95% of it isnt in any of hte islands stores!

I'd understand a bit better when it comes to islands.   But, I live in mid-Missouri, you'd THINK they'd have SOME shit.

But, I went this morning and everything's amazing. They have the bouncy seat I thought they didn't.

Even though I live in a bigger city I still registered at walmart and I did it online. The great thing is that they will ship anything to the store that is closest to you without charging you. If someone in another state wants to get you something or there is something online you want you just pick the closest one to you and pick up your item at the store.

I'm well aware that they will send things to you free of charge. It's called site-to-store. The only problem is, that not everyone has internet. In fact, most people I know and invited to my shower are completely computer illiterate. Thanks, though.
