Falling

posted 2nd Oct
My son is 6 and a half months old and he has been pulling himself up along the couch and in his crib! It is crazy how fast he can crawl from one obstacle to another. My question is when he does pull himself up, he falls down (naturally) but am I supposed to catch him all the time. My mom says he needs to learn how to fall properly but I hate watching him do it. I have thrown pillows around the toy box bc that is where he tends to stand the most. Any ideas? Here are some pictures of him today...

I don't catch Nathan every time for the same reason.  I just make sure his surroundings are safe and let him go at it.

Yeah, I think its caption should be "Holy Cow! This is where she keeps the toys!"

I would just make sure things like corners are covered and safe.....we have a wood coffee table (if you can remember what it looks like) that has sharp corners....my neice and nephew have both smoked their heads on the corner when they were learning to stand.....I plan on getting those little padded corner things to put on it when Elijah's old enough....otherwise, I say let him fall. Bumps and bruises are all part of getting older

Yeah...it is so hard to watch thought! He is excelling at falling =) I can't believe he can stand in the first place! I don't have any coffee tables and stuff, all we have that is hard at all the toy box in the pictures and it had rounded corners so I guess we lucked out in that respect!
