Baby shower question....

I know I'm having two showers because my friends/family live 3000 miles from me and I only have a few friends/co-workers here.

My situation is this. there are 2 group sof people 3000 miles apart and I have a high-risk pregnancy and don't know how long I'll be able to travel (or if I can now, have to ask doc at my appointment)...

Is it better to have my HOME shower in march/april when I'm home next and while I"m still not big and close to my due date and can travel...or should I do it in July after the baby is born when we're going back East for his brother's wedding...or would that be too rude...like stealing his wedding thunder?

I just want a REAL shower and to include my best friends and my family, but I don't know what to do!

Apparently you're the person I accidentally un-PTed! I weeded it out because I had a LOT of people who didn't alk to me at all in my PT and I accidentally clicked to remove TWO people without realizing who it was and you were one (my old Due Date Buddy was the other one!) . Finally I figured out who it was! That makes me happy!

I would say to have the shower when you go in March April. It would kinda steal the wedding thunder. I had my shower @ 17 weeks because our families were so far away from us. We planned the trip before we knew we were pregnant.

I had a shower in absentia. They got a laptop with wireless internet and I hopped on msn messenger with my web cam and had a few conversations. Also, all those ladies brough gift cards and stories of how they know me. Made the shipping easy and helped me get what I needed.

Thats what I was thinking! So I'll plan an easter trip (pending doc approval) and hve it then...

Most of the gifts will be MAILED here and I'll just open a picture/card/etc telling me what they got so that I don't have to try to travel back cross-country with large items. Small items and onesies are great for me to travel with, but diapers can be done on gift cards and large stuff can be mailed (even at my expense!) to aid travel.
