Breastfeeding (the toddler years)

There is a breastfeeding thread in PWI so I was wondering if there is a need for one in here too. As I am getting closer to the toddler years I am finding I am having more questions than I did as my daughter was a newborn. So, I am curious if I am not the only one!

I know quite a few women that are in the bf'ing sticky that are nursing toddlers. I feel kind of sad that I won't be one of them considering my son will only take a bottle now, so I'll be stopping the pumping when he turns a year.

Im not there yet, but would love to read the posts as Im planning on going until around 2 years old (I hope anyway).

I have had a few women on here ( Danielle and Jelena) giving me some pointers on what they do and what is working for them!

I want to continue to BF but such a big part of me wants to feel a little more free and have my boobs back! But, I kind of feel guilty about feeling that way.

So once my daughter turns 1 I will start introducing a cup of milk a couple times a day and probably nurse morning and night.

There is part of me that really wants to let Addie self wean or wean around 2 but sometimes I just want to go all the way milk at one. I don't know how I can go back and forth on it so much. Maybe it's the unknown. Who knows.  D

well i already know there is no way lylian would give up her milk in the next couple weeks. plus she is a very sensitive child, so i dont want to cause her any tumoil over it, so it's best for us to self wean.

Adeline likes to nurse but I don't think she is dependant on it either. But, my other big thing is it would probably be easier to go from breastfeeding to slowly learning to use a cup for milk ( she does great with a cup just I've never put milk in it) than doing it too quickly because I'm sure I'd be bringing the bottle into it and that would be silly.

yeah starting a bottle now, what a waste. i would get her on the cup instead  

I'm a proud breastfeeding mom of 2 toddlers. I guess we're in the minority.
Some days I wish I was done, but then other days I feel sad at the thought of them weaning.
