That sounds lovely! Okay... maybe I shouldn't worry so much about when she weans

the aversion and pain during pregnancy often eases off though, so it's not like you'd have the same feelings the whole time.. maybe others can speak from more experience here and make you feel more positive about it?

My ds was a very frequent nurser, but himself dropped to only nursing for sleeping around 2.5 with no encouragement. He's nursing more now for lots of other reasons (my illness, lots of changes in our lives), and it seems like they cut back when they need to and nurse more when they need to. I really have trust in this process of self weaning when you're alert to their needs and abilities

He doesnt even ask for it at night anymore :-)!
I'm so excited. Literally, only 2 DAYS of telling him no at night and he's completely done with it. Now he only wants to once in the morning when he wakes up and still occasionally asks during the day if I've been at work and he's missed me but he's fine when I say no.
I'm going to stick with the morning for now but I seriously give him like 1 minute on each side lol thats about as much as I can stand and the whole time he's doing it my body is super tense. I can't stand the feeling :-(
Hopefully I get over it soon!

That's wonderful that he doesn't ask at night anymore  .

I remember in early pregnancy repositioning my older child so frequently. I found that the first 20 seconds to a couple of minutes were intense and so unpleasant, then it would be okay (usually). Television really helped distract me. Sometimes I would practice my relaxation techniques for labour  .

I don't remember if it was like that the whole pregnancy, I think the beginning was the worst because I felt like I was going to throw up at any time (and would sometimes have to take her off to run to the bathroom).

I also felt really guilty about it. My milk dried up pretty quickly (I suspect it was partly due to the drugs I was taking for nausea) and my daughter was only about 13 months when I became pregnant.

that's so neat that you are letting her nurse! does she know what she's doing or does it feel funny?

I love it  .

Did she figure it out? Did she like it? Did you like it? Is it something you think you'll continue?

it's an interesting feeling to nurse both.. hahaha... she hasn't done it since we took the picture.. she asked this morning but she only opened her mouth.. didn't latch on... i figure since she has never nursed and if she is curious about it now that i'd let her try it

So, my son had not even asked to breastfeed for a good 3-4 days, and the 2 or 3 days before that I was nicely telling him no and distracting him. He asked today to "taste some breastmilk" lol. He told me there was no milk in my right boobie but a little in the left one. (His exact words, except pointing because he obviously doesn't know left and right   )

Congrats!

We'll be there on October 2!
I almost took my ticker down today, but I guess I have to wait a good 2 weeks after he breastfeeds to take it down for good, because apparently I never know when he will ask again.
