thats a shame for him to disagree with you on everything, it makes it unbearable trying to do anything, i understand. but bf-ing is so healthy for baby, why would he possibly disagree???

motorboating is when someone sticks their face in between your breasteses and well, makes a motorboat sound and motion. i dunno how to explain it any better, lol.

hey ladies, has anyone had experience or know anythign about taking a magnesium supplement? i dont have the bottle right here, but i looked on safefetus.com and each different kind of magnesium pill had a different answers, like no info, safe, and only if must be taken, so there's some mixed reviews. but on kelly mom it says to take magnesium if you have low supply during menstruation. so i am assuming it's safe, but i wanted to check in with you ladies first.

the reason i am taking it is because my back has been hurting super super bad, and i told my chiropractor that i feel like i cant relax my mucles in my back, so my spine is getting pressure, so he put me on 3 magnesium pills before bed for 1 week, then 4 pills the next week, then call him and tell him how it is going to see if he needs to up it. it is supposed to be a natural muscle relaxer. i go to the gyn on wed, so i can ask then, but i didnt know if i should start now or wait until i talk to the dr. but of course, as most of you know, drs. arent always knowledable on this, they will probably just go look it up on the internet anyways haha

So....
I posted on the infant's breastfeeding thread, but someone said to try here. I was wondering if any of you ladies have issues with your LO yanking your shirt down to get to "their" ta-ta's?! My daughter is turning one at the end of the month, and still mostly interested in nursing for her food. She's a bit sickly/teething at the moment, so she's not eating much as far as solids. She nurses constantly, and I still can't get her to sleep through the night. I guess I was just looking for some support. I would love to keep breastfeeding her, but my gawd!!!!!!! I need to draw the line somewhere. When she took it upon herself to flash her doctor a couple days ago, I figured it was getting a bit ridiculous

I've been able to train Niklas to use the sign for nursing as his way of asking to nurse. He did start trying to rip my top off when he was around a year old and I just refused to nurse him when he did that and explained to him that he had to ask nicely or he wouldn't get any. I was consistent with this and it seems to have worked. He's 19 months now and only lifts my t-shirt up if he's trying to tease me and even then, he only lifts a corner of it up and grins at me. He's understood perfectly that lifting my shirt up is a "no-no".

Jamil was an all night nurse for what felt like FOREVER>. I had to move him out of our bed.. it started with just 2 hours, and I had to start getting UP out of bed and nurse him and lay him back in his bed.. It was a PITA.. but it started working... He went from being latched on all night to sleeping until 3... It also considered with us starting some sensory stuff.. The OT recommended us rought housing with him IMMEDIATELY before bed.. Having him run and crash... smashing him with a pillow for a good 10 or so minutes then we would go brush his teeth and lay in bed, I thought She's crazy he's going to be wound up.. But No he passed out like a log.. and that's the FIRST time he started sleeping about a 4 hour strech, and it just got longer and longer.. FINALLY he stays in his bed until at least 6 but most of the time he is waking up at 730.. We did put his bed right next to ours though...

I wish I would have taught him more signs. I love it that he uses the nursing sign so well. He's growing up bilingual and therefore isn't saying many words yet so it's really a shame that we haven't learned more signs with him. He's so polite when he asks to nurse using the sign. It's great!

I love baby signs.. Jamil had a severe speech delay, and luckily we had done signs we taught him most after 15ish months... He got up to 66 before he had any spoken words...

wow! so it's probably not to late to start teaching him more signs now? Did you know signs before you started teaching him? Niklas knows the sign for nursing, hungry, and finished/all done. Hungry he just learned recently because I had to give him something other than the nursing sign once he started more solids. lol He kept doing the nursing sign when he really wanted something to eat. I have a book with the signs in it but I always have to study it and try to figure out a sign first before I can teach it to him so I guess that's why I only ended up teaching him the three. What signs do you consider are the most important ones? He doesn't talk at all yet (not even Mama!).

NO definitely not to late.. and my speech therapist really recommended baby signs..

I did already know a handful because I worked with a boy who was deaf at my school, but even his vocab was very limited so I had to look a bunch up..

He did not call me Mama until about a month ago!)
The best ones for us have been
More
again
No
Please
Play
Up and down.. (Up was his first word, after we started signing it)
Drink
Water
Cracker
Movie
Swing
(pretty much any that are causing tantrums...

The signs can help him with tantrums and also it teaches them to communicate and once they understand that they are 2 steps ahead.. I got addicted to teaching him the signs and once we got on a roll he was learning a new sign every day... I have that kind of memory once I looked it up I didn't forget..

We differincate between Dada Milk (from the fridge) and Mama Milk LoL
