HIGH SCHOOL GRAD!!!

posted 29th Sep
After 2 attempts on going back to school to get my GED with no luck. First time I moved away from the school and did not want to drive an hour to get there. Second time because I got pregnant and had morning sickness so bad I couldn't go on with it. My 3 attempt at school I decided to do it at home at Continental Academy. I took my pre-test to see what classes I need to take. I finished it and mailed it in 3 weeks ago. I didn't hear from them so I called them today, come to find it I got 92.25% on the pre-test. Since I scored over 75% in each subject I don't have to take any other classed, which means I have my HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA!!!!!! This means I can go to a college!

I can now go to college and give my family a better life! Now I really have to think of what field I want to go into... it's very hard.

I had to share it with everyone! I worked so hard! =*]

I encourage anyone that doesn't want to settle with a GED and go to this school. Now I just have to pay the rest of my school off and they will send me my diploma!

My step dad got his at Continental Academy too, and when he went to apply for jobs they told him it is not considered as a "high school diploma". I was going to try this too but after what happened to him I decided not to.

Congrats!
But a GED is the same thing as a High school diploma...the GED is actually MORE difficult to get.

Where did he apply for the job if you don't mind me asking? I researched it and it is considered one.

Depends where you go, when I was in the class, it was so easy. I could close my eyes and did the work. I loved it when I went back then I had to stop. =[ but either way I got my diploma!

I'm sorry but something doesn't sound right about this. It almost sounds like a diploma mill.

He was applying for the city. But I know it is difficult to work for the city so they are probably more strict. He also tried applying at sears to work as a air conditioning and heating tech

Congrats! i had planned on going to get my GED but since ive only been out for 2 years and i need to 13 credits to graduate and get an adult HS diploma they are letting me do whats called high school correspondance classes which is nice because the High school i went to is sponsoring it so i don't have to pay for any of it! and im only going 2 nights a week for 3 hours. In 4 weeks ive already got 2 credits and im working on 4 right now.
And GED is pretty much the same thing. Some places ive heard will only except people with there HS diploma but you can still go to college with your GED.

I scored 75% of higher in each subject so I don't have to take the classes. If I failed math or something I would have to take it until I passed it with 75% or higher. You have to give them your SSN. Everything is legit.

They make you take entrance tests in college... sure.. what I found interesting is that many many many people with HS diplomas and GED's still had to take remedial courses.
