shorter cervix = earlier delivery?

I have a shortened cervix (3 cm - the minimum before the doc does a cerclage I guess?)....It hasn't shortened so far (I had many u/s to monitor it), I've had no preterm labor stuff and I'm 30 1/2 weeks. My question is:
Am I more likely to delivery a few weeks early? Has anyone else had a shorter cervix that carried to term - how close to your due date did you deliver?

i dont know if thats the same thing or not???

Mmmm I can tell you my doc refused a cerclage until his patient was less than 2.5 cm. And he said would not do one anytime after 22 weeks. 3 cm is "normal" as far as I know ... but it does put you at slight risk for pre term labor (my understanding) ...

I just went to the doc last week and my cervix was 4.0 cm and they were really shocked that it was thatlong. Through my last pregnancy my cervix was at 2.4 most of my pregnancy and i ended up delivering at 28 weeks.
