Baby Appleseed Cribs

I have picked out (and am IN LOVE WITH)Baby Appleseed's "Davenport" crib in the espresso finish.
here's a picture...



Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has this bed or anything from Baby Appleseed and what their opinions are on them... It's the top selling brand at a store near me but I recently found quite a few negative reviews online about Baby Appleseed's products and that made me a little nervous.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

i dont have any personal experience with this brand, but with that said you are going to find negative feedback no matter how great an item. some ppl will bitch about anything.  

i think the espresso is a lovely choice! very pretty

Very true.. and that's how I've be rationalizing it with myself but just wanted other input.

Thank yall! It was almost like my wedding dress... the second I saw it I knew it was the one I just HAD to have!  
I think his mother may be regretting calling "dibs" on that being her gift to the baby. lol
In my defense, it was on sale when I told her to go put it on lay-a-way... if she didn't get her butt up there before the sale was over she can only blame herself... (it was a month long sale)

it was $800 on sale for $550.... so she deserves to kick herself if she passed up that deal!
When I saw it I was afraid it would be well over $1000 so I was jumping up and down when i saw $550... which is still alot of money. If she doesn't get it for us I will definately have to look into some cheaper options

hey sweetie when we were researching for cribs I saw this recall on the Davenport crib and just wanted to let you know! It's about 500 units or so, so I'm not sure about if the particular crib you would be getting would qualify but just thought I'd share the info with you!

Wow, thanks! I called the store and made sure they were aware of the recall. I was assurred that I would be getting one of the newer ones with the problem fixed.

It's a little small town shop near where I live called Cribs Galore.
They have a website but it's not really anything all that impressive, just lists their vendors websites. www.cribsgalore.com

Hi-
I just fell in love with the Davenport Crib after weeks of looking. There are several pretty serious negative reviews about this crib. I'm hoping that the safety concerns have now been resolved since the recall in 2008. The negatives listed were regarding the height b/w the mattress and top of rail, chipping paint, and long wait times for production.
Are you happy with your purchace? I really love this crib, but it's not worth it if it's not safe.
