My 6 week old is eating....?

My son was born 8.lbs 12 oz and he's 6 weeks old tommorow, he's eating anywhere from 4-7 oz of baby formula a bottle. He doesn't spit up and he burps great, plus he sleeps abour 5 hours a night. Well, he's with my Fiances parents for the night (Grandma) and they said he ate a 8 oz bottle, is that too much?

how often is he eating?

every 3-4 hours

no my son was born 6 7 and he was eating like that at about 4 weeks old the dr told me to start putting rice cereal in his millk

no. the baby may be having a growth spurt..needing to eat more..

Your son weighed the exact same as mine when he was born.

I assume its normal. My son will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and he will eat up to 8-9 ounces in a matter of an hour or two. He was 7 lbs 12 oz when he was born and as of 9/15/08 was 11 lbs 4 oz. He doesn't sleep long (average of 3 hours) and eats more at night. He doesn't spit up and burps pretty well and he's growing great so I'm not too concerned.

if he's eating it without spitting it up I say continue feeding him unless your pedi tells you otherwise.

just be glad hes eating that and not to little my son is 4 months only eats 3oz

Ok cool, thanks ladies I just thought it was a lot...it's only been about 2 weeks since he was eating 2-3 oz haha they grow so fast =0)

well my son was born 9lbs 8oz and now he's 20lbs 5 months and eats 5.5 oz every 2-3 hrs

but my son is breastfed and every baby is different. some need more food than others
