I hear you! I am finally finding success losing weight, after struggling for 20 years. I weighed 330 pounds at one point; I am down to 260 and still losing. I have found that the only thing that works for me long term is having a plan. I know everyone is looing for a quick fix, but I've tried them all and then gained it back. I'm taking off the weight now permanently because I've altered the way I'm eating.
I've found if I have a plan for what I'm going to eat today, I generally don't deviate from it. If I don't have a plan, I am much more likely to make bad choices about what I'm eating. Working out is the same way for me -- if it's scheduled into my day, I'll exercise. If I just get up in the morning thinking I'll find time to exercise, I never find that time!
I'm not perfect, believe me. No one is. But these days, my eating food that's not good for me is a lot less frequent, and generally, it's something I've planned, too. Yes, I plan my cheating.
I don't know why this works so well -- I guess it's because I feel like I'm in much more control of what I'm eating.
If you need help finding a basic plan for healthy eating, I used this
site.
It can make a personalized plan for you. It was really helpful for me for awhile, until I got the hang of planning meals on my own.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
