re: Vaccination: Researching the Issue

I have a question about the Rhogam shot that I always get at 28 weeks. I usually don't get any immunization or shots. But this one I always have because of my negative blood type and the risks for me and the baby.

I know that I won't be having anymore children after this one and just want to know if this is cut ally necessary to get. I want to make a informed decision about this shot this pregnancy.

My pedi told me the same ...the DtaP was the only one she really encouraged....but I personally know two people who had horrible side affects...plus I think my son has already had exposure...

I ended up with an auto immune disease. Bleck. My son had a HORRIBLE site reaction that we are still being monitored because they want to monitor his muscle tones. The first one was nasty, then the second was was bad, then the last one was alarming. And scary. All of my kids have had exposure and been fine.

Thats awful....is there anyway to reverse it?

My parents had WC and then my fiance and his little sister and I had bronchitis....and my son was diagnosed with bronchitis too but he did make whooping sounds before I started treating him..and actually choked on his mucus a few times...but his pedi wouldnt test him for WC.....he coughed for over a month

No way to reverse it. I still feel crazy even saying it is caused from the DTaP but my nephrologist is certain that's the cause. I was vaccinated right after my youngest was born. The way he explained it made complete sense. Basically, when pregnant and shortly after, your immune system is hyper sensitive and if you receive a vaccination while your immune system is already compromised in some form, it can completely damage your immune system for good. He said he sees a lot of young women with auto immune diseases after being vaccinated either during, or shortly after pregnancy. Nobody should ever receive a vaccine during or shortly after pregnancy, the risks are way too high for auto immune diseases.

I was vaccinated during pregnancy and right after giving birth  ...I regret it alot....My son has never been vaccinated but who knows what that flue shot did to him in utero.

Have you looked inro getting detoxed? I read raw veggie juices help...cilantro in paticular removes heavy metals

I plan on discussing safe ways with my rheumatologist when I go in. I do epsom salt baths very often though. Thing about with me, the damage is already been done to my immune system. I can do things to halt the progression. I am taking ModuCare which is a plant sterol and has great success with auto immune diseases.

Are you able to get a medical exemption for school?

I *think* she probably had a bad dealing with rotavirus with her own kids... She just kept saying if kids got it, they needed hospitalized for dehydration and how dangerous that is for little ones.

I didn't know that! I'll have to read up some more. I felt super pressured about WC and a flu shot (had my little one on the fifth). Heck, I got all kinds of crap from the on call pedi. for not doing the Hep B. But, now I'm glad I didn't change my mind about flu shot/WC!

  I will never understand why they are so damn concerned about a baby receiving a vaccine for an STD. I mean, I can't even really comprehend why the vaccine was even invented for newborns. I get WHY, but I don't understand why. It's an STD, your newborn isn't participating in risky behavior

A midwife told me it was a blanket procedure because of some women having hep b. But I was tested twice for STDs because I'm under 25. And, sorry, but not having crazy random sex or shooting drugs while pregnant. So... yeah. I agree.

Although, my newb does have many late nights involving lotsa boobage ;)

Yeah, I know WHY, I just don't understand it, if that makes sense. The 80s was a REALLY bad decade for STD's and the infant rate of hep b wasn't good. In the early 90s they implemented the Hep b screening for all pregnant women and the rate drastically dropped, then 2 years later they came out with the blanket vaccine. IT's dumb. This isn't the 80s. We are screened fairly heavily. If you have been screened, your baby shouldn't get it, period. Way too many risks for a "well in the .000000001% chance you have hep b and on't know it..."

I'm so sorry that happened to you   I feel so lucky to come out ( at lest for now) with no affects. Did you report it to VAERS?
